1st for EPA is now approved to provide end point assessment for HR Consultant/Partner
1st for EPA has successfully been placed on the Register of End Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs) to provide end point assessment for the HR Consultant/Partner standard.
This level 5 apprenticeship standard contains options for HR specialisms and people management responsibilities. The role could be called HR Consultant or HR Business Partner in different organisations. Individuals in this role will use their HR expertise to provide and lead the delivery of HR solutions to business challenges, together with tailored advice to the business in a number of HR areas, typically to mid-level and senior managers.
EPA for HR Consultant/Partner contains two elements:
1) Consultative Project
The Consultative Project will be a real example of work done by the apprentice in their role. They will be required to write a project that demonstrates how they have applied their knowledge and skills, as described in the assessment criteria. The project should be 5000 words +/- 10%.
2) The Professional Discussion
The Professional Discussion takes the format of a series of questions to assess the apprentice’s skills and behaviours. It takes place after the Consultative Project has been completed and assessed. The Professional Discussion lasts 60-75 minutes and will be carried out by recorded video call.

When should I register apprentices for EPA?
The ESFA encourages employers to select an EPAO when the apprentice begins their apprenticeship. 1st for EPA works flexibly and can also accommodate late registrations, where apprentices may already be at the Gateway stage. We recommend you register your apprentices as soon as possible so we can help them prepare for EPA.
