Job: HR Assessor (end point assessment)

Hours: Part time, hours to be agreed

 

We are seeking HR assessors to assess Human Resources apprenticeships at level 3 (HR Support) and level 5 (HR Consultant/Partner). Experience as an end point assessor is preferred and occupational experience in HR is essential.

1st for EPA offers end point assessment, also known as EPA. This involves assessing apprentices who are coming to the end of their apprenticeship, to ensure they can pass their apprenticeship.

Our EPA is carried out remotely, via video calling. It can be done from anywhere in the UK as long as you have a computer, webcam and internet connection. Assessments include reviewing a project proposal, assessing a written report and carrying out a professional discussion, as well as writing up feedback and general admin related to the assessment.

This is a flexible position that you can work from home, choosing your own hours (within office hours). It is part time and is expected to grow quickly.

The role involves:

  • Responding to assessment bookings in a timely manner
  • Assessing the apprentice’s consultative project
  • Carrying out the professional discussion assessment, via video call
  • Awarding marks using a defined assessment plan and marking criteria
  • Making sound judgements about the standard of the apprentices knowledge and competence
  • Providing robust feedback to the apprentice and arriving at an overall grade
  • Check project proposals and provide initial feedback (at the gateway stage)
  • Attending standardisation meetings as and when required
  • Working as part of the 1st for EPA assessment team
  • Maintaining your own professional development.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in HR plus familiarity with the role covered by the apprenticeship.
  • Current CPD activity that shows you are up to date with current developments in the sector
  • Technical and management expertise
  • Understanding of the qualification used within the apprenticeship
  • Highly organised
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to plan your own schedule and commit to agreed times/bookings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to attend two standardisation events per year.

Desirable

  • Qualifications in HR at Level 5 or above and/or Level 5 or above Management qualifications
  • Assessing qualifications (CAVA, TAQA, Award in EPA, A1)
  • Marking/assessing experience
  • Experience working as an End Point Assessor or Independent Assessor
  • An understanding of apprenticeship standards and EPA
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) experience
  • Prevent and safeguarding training
