About Us

1st for EPA is on the Register of End Point Assessment Organisations (RoEPAO).

Our mission is to support apprentices to succeed in their apprenticeship. We do this by making the EPA process easy, providing apprentices with all the support needed to go through EPA and complete their apprenticeship.

By ensuring apprentices are fully equipped to carry out their role, we are supporting employers to create a workforce fit for the future.

How we work

When a training provider registers an apprentice with us, they are given a dedicated point of contact who will support the apprentice through EPA. We have a comprehensive resource bank and a friendly team to prepare every apprentice for EPA.

We make the EPA process simple, with guidance every step of the way for apprentices, training providers and employers.

How does EPA work?

  • The apprentice’s employer chooses an end point assessment organisation (EPAO), often with the help of their training provider.

  • The training provider registers the apprentice with the EPAO, giving an expected date for EPA.

  • The apprentice completes Gateway and schedules their EPA.

  • 1st for EPA provides full support and guidance to help the apprentice prepare for EPA.

  • EPA is carried out with a qualified assessor.

  • 1st for EPA carries out quality checks, then notifies the apprentice of their results and claims their completion certificate from the ESFA.
