Information Communications Technician apprentices deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and/or Telecommunications infrastructure (comprising physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage) either on-premises or to end-users provisioned as cloud services that is required to deliver and support the information systems needs of an organisation.

What does EPA involve for Information Communications Technician?

The end point assessment, or EPA, for the Information Communications Technician standard is made up of two components:

  1. Professional Discussion underpinned with a portfolio
  2. Project Report with Questioning

EPA1: Professional Discussion underpinned with a portfolio

A portfolio of evidence is submitted at the gateway. The discussion then takes place as a video call between the apprentice and assessor, lasting 60 minutes.

EPA 2: Project Report with Questioning

A 1,500 word project report is written, and the apprentice then undergoes 30 minutes of questioning on the project with the independent assessor.
