What’s involved in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner end point assessment?
Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner EPA has two elements. These are:
- Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Work-based project followed by a report and a presentation with questions and answers
Detailed guidance and resources are provided.
EPA 1: Professional Discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
A portfolio of evidence is submitted at gateway and supports the professional discussion. The assessment is carried out by video call, one-to-one between apprentice and assessor. It will last around 60 minutes.
EPA2: Work-based project report, presentation and Q&As
The project will be a real piece of work based on a business need. Apprentices will be asked to submit a 5,000 word report, deliver a 20 minute presentation and then have a 25 minute Q&A with the assessor.

How does EPA work?
The apprentice’s employer chooses an end point assessment organisation (EPAO), often with the help of their training provider.
The training provider registers the apprentice with the EPAO, giving an expected date for EPA.
The apprentice completes Gateway and schedules their EPA.
1st for EPA provides full support and guidance to help the apprentice prepare for EPA.
EPA is carried out with a qualified assessor.
1st for EPA carries out quality checks, then notifies the apprentice of their results and claims their completion certificate from the ESFA.
