What does the Senior People Professional EPA involve?
The end point assessment, or EPA, for the Senior People Professional standard has two elements. These are:
- Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Project proposal, presentation and questioning

EPA 1: Professional Discussion supported by a portfolio of evidence
This discussion is based largely on the portfolio of learning that the apprentice creates while on programme and submits at gateway. The professional discussion itself is carried out by video call, one-to-one between the apprentice and assessor. It will last around 2 hours.
EPA 2: Project proposal, presentation and questioning
The project will be an extensive piece of work carried out based on a real business need. Apprentices must write a 7,000 word report, deliver a 20 minute presentation and then undergo 40 minute questioning with an assessor.

Our Senior People Professional EPA is fully remote
1st for EPA carries out end point assessment for the Senior People Professional standard remotely. We work with apprentices throughout England and offer flexible scheduling to make it accessible for all apprentices.
Senior People Professional EPA Timescales
The EPA period for this standard is typically 4 months. Throughout the course of these 4 months, apprentices will be required to complete both their project proposal and presentation, before delivering the presentation and undergoing questioning with the assessor.

Senior People Professional EPA Guidance
We provide an Apprentice Toolkit and full guidance for EPA. We also run a training provider onboarding session to run through the EPA process, timescales, and best practice for Senior People Professional EPA.
How does EPA work?
The training provider recommends an EPAO, often with input from the employer.
The training provider registers the apprentice with the EPAO, giving an expected date for EPA.
The apprentice completes Gateway and schedules their EPA.
1st for EPA provides full support and guidance to help the apprentice prepare for EPA.
EPA is carried out with a qualified assessor.
1st for EPA carries out quality checks, then emails the apprentice their results and claims their completion certificate from the ESFA.
How much does the Senior People Professional EPA cost?
The cost of EPA for the SPP apprenticeship standard is £2150. There will be additional fees for any apprentices who are required to resit or retake the end point assessment. You can get in touch with a member of the 1st for EPA team to go through resit and retake fees.

Is a level 7 Senior People Person apprenticeship equivalent to a Master’s?
Yes. Any level 7 apprenticeship is equivalent to a Master’s degree in that subject. Apprenticeships are a great way to get real life experience in the senior people person job role while completing your training and end point assessment.
