What does EPA involve for Cyber Security Technician?

The end point assessment, or EPA, for the Cyber Security Technician standard is made up of three components:

  1. Scenario Demonstrations with questioning
  2. Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio
  3. Knowledge Test

EPA1: Scenario Demonstrations with questioning

Apprentices will complete 4 practical scenario demonstrations, in a simulated environment. Each will include tasks they would  naturally encounter as a Cyber Security Technician. The total time for the demonstrations will be 5 hours.

EPA 2: Professional Discussion underpinned by a portfolio

The professional discussion is between the apprentice and the 1st for EPA assessor and is carried out by video call. It lasts 60 minutes  and 1st for EPA provides guidance, including how to prepare, and giving example questions.

EPA 3: Knowledge Test

The knowledge test is 60 minutes long and contains 40 questions, which are all multiple choice. It is taken online.
