What does Marketing Executive EPA involve?
The end point assessment, or EPA, for the Marketing Executive standard is made up of three components:
- Multiple choice knowledge test
- Project showcase, based on marketing activity
- Professional discussion
EPA 1: The multiple choice knowledge test
Apprentices complete a multiple choice test online. The test contains 50 questions, with 4 possible answers each. Apprentices will have 90 minutes to complete the test. The test will be invigilated and recorded.
EPA 2: Project showcase
The apprentice must undertake a project based on marketing activity they carry out for their employer organisation. The showcase requires apprentices to submit a 3500 word report, then take part in a 10 minute presentation and 20 minute Q&A session with a trained assessor.
EPA 3: Professional discussion
This is a 50 minute discussion between the apprentice and the assessor, carried out via video call. The discussion will typically include 4 competency-based questions and 4 scenario-based questions.

How does EPA work?
The training provider recommends an EPAO, often with input from the employer.
The training provider registers the apprentice with the EPAO, giving an expected date for EPA.
The apprentice completes Gateway and schedules their EPA.
1st for EPA provides full support and guidance to help the apprentice prepare for EPA.
EPA is carried out with a qualified assessor.
1st for EPA carries out quality checks, then emails the apprentice their results and claims their completion certificate from the ESFA.
What does EPA cost for Marketing Executive?
Our cost for the Marketing Executive apprenticeship standard’s end point assessment is £1125.
All apprentices registered with us can take a mock knowledge test at no extra cost.
Resits are priced according to which component(s) need to be repeated.
If a re-take is needed, this is charged at the full fee of £1125.
